Stratford Police investigation leads to nine arrests and seizure of nearly $300,000 of drugs

Stratford Police announced Tuesday it made several arrests and seized nearly $300,000 worth of drugs in four investigations that took place in May and June.

In one of the investigations, a one-year-old child was found in a residence where more than one kilogram of cocaine was allegedly located.

In total, nine individuals are facing numerous drug possession and trafficking-related charges. The investigations, which took place over the winter and spring, led to multiple arrests and property seizures that happened between May 21 and June 12. In total police, seized $286,677 of suspected drugs, more than $250,000 in property and $25,000 in cash. Among the drugs that were taken were 1.17 kg of methamphetamine, 1.2 kg of cocaine, and 300 grams of fentanyl, police said.

Undisclosed amounts of other drugs taken included crack cocaine, ecstasy, oxycodone, Clonazepam, bezimidazole, hydromorphone, anabolic steroids and other unspecified narcotics.

Police also seized four vehicles, including three that were reportedly stolen and one that was allegedly obtained through “proceeds of a crime.”

The final investigation, which concluded last week, saw Stratford police execute a search warrant at a residence in the city, resulting in charges against a 21-year-old male and a 23-year-old female. During the investigation, officers conducted surveillance on the male over several days during which “activity consistent with drug trafficking was observed,” police alleged.

The male was arrested in Sebringville, where he was reportedly in possession of three-milligram benzimidazole pills worth $15, while the female was arrested after the search reportedly found the child and a more-than-900-gram brick of cocaine in the master bedroom , police said.
