Stratford police investigating stolen vehicle found on nearby road

The Stratford Police Service is investigating after a vehicle stolen from a home on Bradshaw Drive in Stratford Thursday was recovered a day later on nearby Butler Cove Road.

In a press release, police said they received a report at 4:30 am Thursday that a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander had been stolen from the north Stratford home after it had last been seen just four hours earlier.

After recovering the vehicle on Butler Cove Road Friday, police obtained video surveillance from a residence on that road that showed the stolen vehicle was on Butler Cove Road at 6 am Thursday, however police do not know what time the vehicle arrived in that area.

Police are asking residents along Butler Cove Road and Bradshaw Drive to check their security camera footage from early Thursday morning and report any suspicious activity to Stratford police by calling 519-271-4141. Anyone with further information on this theft is asked to contact Stratford police or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Police are also reminding Stratford residents to register their surveillance cameras through the Stratford Police Service Security Camera Registration and Mapping program at www.stratford.ca/en/live-here/crime-prevention.aspx to assist police with timely and efficient investigations and help reduce crime within the community.
