Stratford police investigating fire slashings

An investigation is underway in Stratford after several vehicle owners along Nile and MacKenzie streets recently found their tires slashed, police say.

According to a press release from Const. Darren Fischer, police are looking for the public’s help identifying people involved in several tire-slashing incidents that happened overnight April 23.

Police received complaints from vehicle owners the next morning. Video surveillance from an area home showed three possible suspects approaching one of the affected vehicles on Nile Street at 2:50 am on April 24, but the suspects couldn’t be identified, police said.

Investigators are encouraging any affected vehicle owners who haven’t already filed a report to do so. Police are also asking anyone with video surveillance in the area to review the footage.
