In preparation for the friendly matches of March 22 and 26 against Gabon and Benin respectively, the Senegal coach, Aliou Cissé, delivered a list of 31 players this Friday, March 15. Four new ones are expected to discover the den: Mamadou Lamine Camara (RS Berkane), Seydou Sano (Al-Gharafa), Habib Diarra (Strasbourg), and Arouna Sanganté (Le Havre). The last two, playing in Ligue 1, had been courted for some time. Habib Diarra, French Espoirs international, declined his call-up a year ago and preferred to join the selection led by Thierry Henry. For the Le Havre defender, Sangaté, it is logical since he narrowly missed the CAN 2024 according to the confidences of Aliou Cissé. Four players, who took part in the CAN, were not recalled: Youssouf Sabaly, who retired internationally and Krépin Diatta suspended by CAF. Note the presence of the jewel, Amara Diouf (15 years old), who had already celebrated her first selection against Rwanda last September (1-1) during the CAN 2023 qualifiers. But this is not a team led by Aliou Cisse.
