A ghost with a receding hairline and a tank top can pack up again as a horror creature. At least that’s the experience of Stranger Things star David Harbor in We Have A Ghost. From horror expert Christopher Landon, the comedy (Happy Deathday) is available now on Netflix.

Frank (Anthony Mackie) finds his family’s new home in a spacious old house that mysteriously turns out to be a lot cheaper than expected. However, they are quickly found when son Kevin (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) discovered in the attic Ghost Ernest (Harbour).

With its bourgeois appearance, the actually quite nice ghost is a flat zero on the scary scale. But maybe it’s enough for an internet sensation on YouTube? And the cell phone is pulled out.

The result is a horror comedy for the whole family. In a way, the material is new territory for director Landon, because even his more fun excursions into the horror genre have so far been tailored more towards at least a young audience. Especially thanks to the talent in front of the camera (including comedy ace Tig Notaro) the film will be worth a look for many fans.
