The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced yesterday that the 284 passengers and 34 crew of the Ruby Princess, which docked in Galveston, Texas, on March 5, fell ill for an unknown reason.
“Reported gastrointestinal disease cases are totals for the entire voyage and do not represent the number of active gastrointestinal cases at any port of call or disembarkation,” the CDC statement said. The CDC stated that the investigation into the origin of the disease is continuing. (DHA)
