Many tourists have disappeared in the Parvati valley over the years. Osa’s fate has remained a mystery.
In India, two Russian travelers were found dead on Thursday in the Parvati valley in the Himalayas.
They talk about it, among other things The Times of India -newspaper and news channel NDTV.
The Parvati Valley is sometimes called the “Bermuda Triangle of India” and the “Valley of Death” because of the number of tourists who have disappeared in the area.
The naked bodies of a 37-year-old Russian man and a 21-year-old woman were found in a hot spring a couple of kilometers from Manikaran. The small town is a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Sikhs.
Both deceased had external injuries. However, according to the local police, the injuries were not fatal. The authorities are investigating the cause of death of the Russians.
Among other things, some kind of blade or knife, Russian passports, cell phones and hashish were found near the hot spring.
Police say they are keeping all lines of inquiry open. The police suspect that it may be a murder, a suicide contract or a drug overdose.
According to the police, the couple had checked into a local guesthouse in mid-October. The police say they found a note in their room that said in English to send our things to the Russian embassy and a cell phone to family members.
The Parvati Valley is located in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh. A popular destination for pilgrims, backpackers and trekkers, it is known for its wonderful scenery, holy places, hashish production and machine music parties organized in the forests.
Disappearances and deaths
Over the years, many foreign and Indian tourists have gone missing in the Parvati Valley. Since 2011 known to the police there are at least twenty people missing.
For example, in 2016 publicity got an American adventurer and social media influencer by Justin Shetler disappearance. His fate is not known.
In the past year, at least two Indian tourists have gone missing in the Parvati Valley. At least one of them was found dead.
The authorities suspect that some of the missing have been involved in an accident. Others may have ended up in the clutches of criminals or wild animals. Criminals are known to have killed foreigners in the Parvati Valley.
