(Finance) – Pat Coxcoordinator of Trans-European transport network (Ten-T) of the Mediterranean-Scandinavian Corridor, declared to Ansa that the request to co-finance studies for the Bridge over the Strait of Messina has arrived on the table in Brussels which will publish its decision “by July”. “So far we have had two meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, and I am pleased to know that the application has been presented”, she added on the sidelines of the Connecting Europe Days which took place in Brussels.
“What we can do for now is only the co-financing of studies“, underlined Cox. It is “a very ambitious and very expensive project”, he added.
The EU leader then underlined that the project will require national funding but that in the future “it may require a financing European“.
