Storm Idalia, seen in the north of the Caribbean Sea, caused an alarm in the Gulf of Mexico. It was stated that the storm, which is effective in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and west of Cuba, may cause floods and landslides. In the statement made by the Mexican National Meteorological Service (SMN), it was reported that Storm Idalia, whose wind speed reaches 90 kilometers per hour, will affect the states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo in the region.

THE PUBLIC HAS BEEN WARNED ABOUT THE STORM

Authorities in the region, which includes the most popular tourism cities in the country, announced that measures were taken due to the storm and stated that there is no danger for tourists for now. Cuban authorities, on the other hand, warned citizens to be cautious, stating that the storm would be effective in the Pinar del Rio region and Isla de la Juventud Island in the west of the country.

IT WILL TURN INTO A hurricane

It is expected that Storm Idalia, which is moving north at a speed of 4 kilometers per hour and approaching towards the Gulf of Mexico, will become stronger in the coming days and turn into a hurricane and then land in the US state of Florida.
