The popular television program Idol has been running on TV4 since 2004. Before the 2024 Idol, TV4 has decided to stir the pot and therefore poked one of those most associated with the program, Kishti Tomitafrom the jury.

Soon after, the jury member announced Alexander Kronlund that he chose to drop out of the program. This means that it is only Anders Bagge and Katja Mosally remaining on the jury.

The new additions to the Idol jury
Tomita and Kronlund will be replaced by the artist Peg Parnevik and the manager and record label owner Arash “Ash” Pournouri. Pournouri is primarily known for being Hours “Avicii” Berglings manager until the end of 2016, just over a year and a half before the artist died.

After Avicii’s death, a documentary was created about the artist. In the documentary, manager Pournouri is accused of pushing Avicii too hard. This has caused several people to react strongly to his participation in Idol.

TV4’s response to the criticism
The evening paper has spoken to TV4, which responds to the criticism. They say they have chosen Pournouris for the jury because of his “knowledge and experience of the music industry”.
In a message to Aftonbladet writes Malin Knaveexecutive producer of Idol:
“We are aware that there are thoughts and opinions regarding the selection of the jury. We are very happy that Ash is part of the Idol jury and the response has been overwhelmingly positive”.
