A heavy rainstorm dragged in the night of Monday over large parts of the country. The storm, which the Norwegians have named Hans, affected air traffic, ferry traffic and flooded basements.
It will probably get even worse in the coming days. SMHI has issued a red warning for parts of Västra Götaland, Värmland and Närke on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the emergency services have raised their preparedness for floods in several parts of the country. Red warning means that the weather can cause very serious damage and major disruptions in society, as well as danger to the public.
