OPEN STORE. This Thursday, July 14, 2022, most supermarkets in France, shopping centers and department stores in Paris remain open. However, which stores are closed on this holiday? We take stock.
[Mis à jour le 11 juillet 2022 à 19h09] Which major retailers continue to open their doors on July 14? National Day marks a public holiday in France, and this in the middle of the summer sales, but that does not stop all purchases. In Paris, the Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais department stores remain open. Just like, on the shopping center side, the Carrousel du Louvre, Bercy Village, the Beaugrenelle Center, the Italy 2 Center…
All the (many) shopping centers on the outskirts are also open. On the scale of metropolitan France, several major brands welcome customers as usual, with opening times that are often a little different and sometimes variable depending on the locality. This list includes Auchan, Carrefour and Carrefour Market, Intermarché, Leclerc, Cora and Géant Casino. These supermarkets also specify their opening procedures on their websites.
Most of the big brands (Carrefour, Auchan, Leclerc, Intermarché…) open their doors on July 14, but it all depends on the store, and you should check the schedules on a case-by-case basis depending on your region. In Paris, fashion victims will be delighted to learn that department stores are opening their doors, from Printemps Haussmann to Galeries Lafayette, via the BHV.
Regarding shopping in supermarkets, good news: they are open throughout France. You can therefore go to your Carrefour, Super U, Monoprix, Auchan or Leclerc. Be careful, however, for this last supermarket, since the opening is planned on a case-by-case basis.
In Paris, beyond the stores, many shopping centers and department stores will be open on Thursday July 14, 2022. Details below:
