Candy shop openly sold cannabis

Last summer, Sundbyberg municipality attacked a candy store that sold cannabis completely openly. Sales were mainly aimed at young people as the product was packaged with, among other things, gummy bears.

The store itself stated that the product did not contain the drug-classified preparation THC, which is the active substance in cannabis. But when the goods were sent for analysis, they were found to contain the drug, reports say SVT News Stockholm.

– It is completely reprehensible with drug dealing like this in the middle of our fine city, says Peter Schilling (S), chairman of the municipal board in Sundbyberg, to SVT Nyheter Stockholm.

Want before sales ban

In Sweden, there is no national ban on the sale of cannabis-like products, something that Peter Schilling believes should exist.

– I hope that all municipalities in Sweden go through and look, together with the police and other authorities, to curb this throughout Sweden, he tells SVT Nyheter Stockholm.

The municipality of Sundbyberg has chosen to ban the sale of cannabis-like products both in stores and online, with reference to the Food Act.
