Jens Stoltenberg described that immediately after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed Sweden’s NATO application, he called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
– Then his message was that he supports Swedish membership.
“We are done”
During the press conference, Jens Stoltenberg also described that preparations have been made for Sweden to become a full NATO member in the near future.
– When it’s done, we want to have a ceremony where we raise the Swedish flag outside NATO as usual. We are ready, we have put up the flagpole and I look forward to raising the Swedish flag, said the Secretary General.
