Stina Nilsson has had a very tough winter.
But now she has had her big revenge on the ski slopes.
On Sunday, the Swede secured his first victory of the season – in the wrong sport.
The season has been incredibly tough for Stina Nilsson. Her fourth in her new career as a biathlete was not at all what she had hoped for.
Nilsson’s winter
First, she was kicked from the World Cup after weak efforts and sent down to the IBU Cup. After that, she was also selected for this year’s Biathlon World Cup.

The 30-year-old, who a few years ago was one of the world’s best cross-country skiers, has had to struggle with both skiing and shooting during the winter. She has also had to endure harsh criticism in connection with the setbacks in the tracks.
First victory
But this weekend she finally got to celebrate again when Stina secured her first victory of the season. While the rest of the biathlon national team was in the Czech Nove Mesto and salvaged both WC gold and WC silver in the men’s and women’s relay, Nilsson returned home to Malung again.

Where she made a comeback as a cross-country skier again and competed in the Skinnarloppet. The former Olympic and World Cup gold medalist showed his class by winning the long race by a full five minutes to the runner-up.
“Congratulations Stina”
A wonderful revenge for Stina Nilsson after this heavy winter – even if it was in the wrong sport.
“Bössan had to stay at home today when the Skinnarloppet in nice, nice Malung was on the menu,” she writes on Instagram along with a picture of herself and the victory wreath.

Nilsson is also praised on social media by the Swedes. The picture, which you can see below, has received almost 14,000 likes and a lot of uplifting comments.
“Impressive riding,” writes the boyfriend Emil Nykvist in the comment field.
“Congratulations Stina on the victory in the Skinnarloppet”, writes another user.
“So much fun that you rode the home run. Big congratulations to you. Impressive strike,” writes a third.
