Stina Nilsson has had a very tough season.
Now the Swede opens up about her own future.
– I have not evaluated with the coaches, but I want to take it up myself, Stina admits to SVT.
Before the last season, expectations were high Stina Nilsson. She was entering her third season as a biathlete and now she would get even closer to the top of the world in order to fight for the podium places at the World Cup.

But that was not the case at all as the season developed into a real nightmare season for the 29-year-old. Nilsson had to fight hard both on the shooting range and in the skiing to keep up, but the top results were completely absent.

After a series of weak efforts at the World Cup, Stina was kicked from the A national team and relegated to the IBU Cup, which also led to her being nominated for the Biathlon World Cup. Instead, Nilsson got to represent Sweden during the biathlon European Championships and received a bronze medal from that championship.

Now the biathlon season is over and then Stina Nilsson gets the chance to reflect on the future when she looks back on the season that has been.
– Especially before Christmas, I think that something was not working in my skating, there was something that inhibited, it just wasn’t right, she admits in an interview with SVT Sport.

In the summer, Nilsson will turn 30, and then thoughts will inevitably arise about how many years she has left in her career. Now the Swede reveals his sincere feelings about the future.
– I definitely see at least three more years, as I feel now, I just want to bet on next season because that’s the one I can see right in front of my nose, says Stina to the TV channel.
– When it’s a bit brave, I think it’s fun to cave and think; ok now this doesn’t work, how do I fix it?

Stina Nilsson knows exactly what she needs to improve for next season in order to develop even more and take the next step as a biathlete.
– I have not evaluated with the coaches, but I myself have some reflections of my own that I want to address. Because it’s a bit where I stand now that I need to screw things up a bit to get it right, she says in the interview.
