Stina Nilsson has had to endure harsh criticism.
Now she explains the reason for what everyone is wondering about.

The last season has not been easy at all Stina Nilsson. She got the chance at the World Cup at the beginning of the season but failed to live up to expectations.
Criticism of Stina
Swedish biathlon started the season with two disappointments in a row by coming in 84th place and 69th place. It was her only World Cup race this winter before she was relegated to the IBU Cup.

She has remained there ever since while criticism has grown against her. Recently, the former biathlon coach passed away Wolfgang Pichler out and sentenced Nilsson for her skiing.
– I am surprised that her skiing is not better. She was a world-class skater, who beat Johaug in the 5 km freestyle relay, he told SVT.

Nilsson admits

– Stina’s development was quite positive at the beginning, that it looked better and better. But then the big mystery has always been – since she became a biathlete – specifically the skiing. What’s wrong with skiing? Her second season she did some nice races and got on the podium once, but since then things have been slow. And she has been pretty far behind the very best. Because that is the great mystery. Why doesn’t it go faster?, he told the TV channel in the past few days.

Stina Nilsson has collected three podium places in the IBU Cup in recent weeks and feels herself that she has found her way back to form. Now she gives her own explanation as to why she doesn’t go faster as a biathlete.
– I think a lot of people forget that as a cross-country skier I was absolutely the best at classic sprints, which is pretty far from skating and distance as it gets. So I think, first of all, that comparison is a bit special. But I think that right now I ski in a way that I feel very proud of, she says in a statement to SVT.
