The star trio has received criticism for their controversial decision, but they have also directed clear criticism at the national team management for demanding changes. Now Nilsson is speaking out for the first time about the defections from the national skiing team.
– When I was in the national cross-country team, I still had pretty good insight into what happened and how the conversation went. Now I don’t have it, but I had to read about it in the media, says Nilsson in an interview with SportExpressen.

Nilsson’s judgment

Stina Nilsson is clear that if this feels best for the trio in their training schedule and preparations for the new season, then it is the right decision.

The 29-year-old attaches great importance to the leadership team in a national team and compares it to his own national team in biathlon.
– If you want to see how a national team is structured, it is incredibly important with the leadership staff, to get us active… We want to move up and we want to strive forward, but I think it is very important that we want to do it together. And I think that Swedish biathlon has done very well with Rikard (Grip) at the head and Johannes (Lukas) and all the coaches. I think we have a very good drive forward, she says to the evening newspaper.
