Stina Nilsson is a full-fledged biathlete now.
But the Swede is still following what is happening in the national skiing team, where a trio dropped out recently.

The time has come Stina Nilsson’s third season as biathlete. Last season offered the very first podium place at the World Cup and the first SC gold medal in biathlon.

But in her old sport, things have really stormed in the national skiing team during the pre-season. There Stina’s friends and old teammates Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Lynn Svahn has chosen to leave the national team completely and train on his own.

The star trio has received criticism for their controversial decision, but they have also directed clear criticism at the national team management for demanding changes. Now Nilsson is speaking out for the first time about the defections from the national skiing team.

Nilsson’s judgment
Stina Nilsson is clear that if this feels best for the trio in their training schedule and preparations for the new season, then it is the right decision.
– I think that if the girls know that it is right for them, they should absolutely follow that track. I assume that they have a good dialogue with the union so that everything goes right. I don’t have the same insight, but I just have to keep up, she says in the interview.

The 29-year-old attaches great importance to the leadership team in a national team and compares it to his own national team in biathlon.
– If you want to see how a national team is structured, it is incredibly important with the leadership staff, to get us active… We want to move up and we want to strive forward, but I think it is very important that we want to do it together. And I think that Swedish biathlon has done very well with Rikard (Grip) at the head and Johannes (Lukas) and all the coaches. I think we have a very good drive forward, she says to the evening newspaper.
