Stina Nilsson’s emotional words about the sad news

Stina Nilsson has had a successful start to the new sport.
She has already taken two podium places at Ski Classics.
But now she announces the sad news herself.

After four seasons in biathlon, took Stina Nilsson the decision to change sports again. This winter she is doing her very first season with long-distance races and has had a real taste of Ski Classics.

Nilsson’s great success

Stina has started the season with two podium places, a third place in the premiere race and a second place a few weekends ago. In the last race, it was a strong fifth place and she is thus found in the top tier of the overall standings at Ski Classics.

This weekend awaits one of the year’s great highlights for all long-distance skiers, when the classic Marcialonga race starts. It is one of the most prestigious ski races and is Italy’s equivalent of the Vasaloppet.

Stina’s sad news

Every year, thousands of skiers, both elite skiers and exercisers, make the pilgrimage to Marcialonga to take on the classic race. But now Stina Nilsson is forced to turn down the highlight of the year.

The Swede is now opening up with emotional words on social media about the sad news and why she is withdrawing the offer so soon.
“Unfortunately, a living bacteria is ravaging my body, and I won’t be able to start in this weekend’s Marcialonga,” she writes on Instagram and sends a greeting to all followers.
“I know that many of my followers usually make the trip down to Italy and go, so I want to wish everyone the best of luck – I would love to be on the starting line with you. Hope to be in training soon!”

Nilsson’s post has attracted a lot of attention and received over 3,000 likes and a lot of supportive comments.
“It was sad to hear. Get over it,” writes one user.
“Take care of yourself. Health comes first. Get over it,” writes another.
“So sad, wish you a speedy recovery!”, writes a third.
