Stina Nilsson’s brutally honest words ahead of the first World Cup race in three months – innermost thoughts: “Putting hooks on me”

Stina Nilsson is back at the World Cup again.
Now she reveals her innermost thoughts ahead of the first race in three months.
– If I were to start thinking about it, I would put a hook on myself, she says to SVT.

It was a nightmare start to the current season too Stina Nilsson when the first World Cup weekend ended in great disappointment. The Swede finished 84th and 69th in the first two races in Östersund and then had to leave the World Cup.

Nilsson back

Since then, she has competed at the IBU Cup, the level below the World Cup, and tried to find her confidence again. Now Nilsson has got a golden chance to get his place back in the World Cup again then both Hanna Öberg and Lynn Persson forced to rest.

And it is a really tough Stina who returns to the World Cup again for the competitions in Holmenkollen.
– It feels very exciting. I have done a lot in IBU and have felt that a lot has been true. It feels fun to see how far a race can go here. It will be fun to get a chance now, says Stina Nilsson to news agency TT.

Stina admits

But Thursday’s distance race never took place and due to bad weather, Stina Nilsson has to wait for her comeback until Friday instead. The World Cup races in Norway are also the basis for the team selection for upcoming competitions in North America, and now the 30-year-old will really show what she’s up to.
– I think it’s difficult, there are probably five places, but I try not to think too much about it. I have been selected here and distance can be good or not so good. I still did some good distance at the IBU Cup. When it’s right, it’s super-super fun to go out on a sprint lap and fight about something. So there are all possibilities for me, says Nilsson in an interview with SVT.

Stina is very well aware that a lot is at stake in Holmenkollen and the competition is fierce on the women’s side of the national biathlon team.
– We’re one girl too much, but if I started thinking about it, I’d put a hook on myself. I have a chance to make a good distance and can focus on that and see where it leads, she says ahead of the postponed race that will be decided on Friday.
