Stina Nilsson’s brutally honest confession about why she is leaving biathlon for good – now praised by the Swedes: “You are so tough”

Stina Nilsson leaves biathlon altogether.
Now she tells in her own words why – and is supported by everyone.
– Then I felt “YES”, this is what I want to do, says Stina in a statement.

For four years have Stina Nilsson had to fight hard to establish himself as a biathlete. The first two seasons pointed the development curve upwards and she managed to reach the World Cup already in her first season in the new sport.

Nilsson quits

But the last two seasons have been extremely tough for the Swede and now patience has run out. On Tuesday came the sudden announcement that Nilsson is ending his biathlon career with immediate effect.

Instead, Stina will change sports again and this time it will be a bet on long-distance running. She has already signed a two-year contract with the Norwegian big team Team Ragde Charge, owned by the skiing legends Jörgen Aukland and Anders Aukland.

Stina changes sports

Now she reveals in her own words why she is leaving biathlon for good.
– I feel that I have reached my potential in biathlon. I have always been fascinated and inspired by long-distance running and the Vasaloppet. When the Aukland brothers with Team Ragde Charge got in touch, I felt “YES”, this is what I would like to do, says Stina in a statement via her new team.

Stina Nilsson has also posted a picture on Instagram about her decision and that post has received over 20,000 likes and a lot of nice comments, see the picture below.
“Hope you have steady fingers. Because if you are going to keep them for me in the future, you will have to keep them for many miles. The time has come for me to change tracks and move on towards new challenges and goals. Thank you Team Ragde Charge for this opportunity,” she writes in the post.

“Exciting Stina, good luck,” writes the former biathlete Helena Ekholm.
“Will keep all my fingers and toes crossed,” writes the national team colleague Anna Magnusson.
