Stina Nilsson has not had a dream start to the season.
Now coach Johannes Lukas points out the relationship with Emil Nykvist.
– Did he say that? says Nilsson to NRK.
The year was 2020 when Stina Nilsson changed cross-country skiing to biathlon, after being at the top of the world in the former. Already in her first year, she made her debut in the World Cup in biathlon, and the following year Stina took her first podium.

But last season was a big step backwards, and there was neither the WC nor the World Cup for Nilsson.
In this year’s Swedish premiere in Idre, her results were mediocre, but the 30-year-old was nevertheless selected for the World Cup in Östersund. In Sunday’s 15 kilometer distance race, she came in 84th place, after as many as seven obstacles. Now Nilsson’s place in the World Cup is once again in danger.

In Östersund, there are now three competitions left this week, before the World Cup moves on to Austria. Where it is therefore unclear whether Stina can go along. The weak start to the season comes after a tough start.
– I’ve had a rather complicated autumn, with many colds and corona here at the end, so I’m happy to train here at home. I think they (the coaches) have seen some of me this summer, I hope, and they believe in me. I am grateful for that, she tells NRK.
Nilsson & Nykvist
Last summer, Stina Nilsson and the biathlon colleague went Emil Nykvist out that they are a couple. They are now one of several couples in the biathlon national team, which the national team coach John Luke think has done them good.
– We are so talented and enjoy each other, so it will be like that and it will go well. But I can only assess the sporting aspect and it’s probably not that much training they have together, but it has probably given her a positive boost of energy, says Lukas about Nilsson to the Norwegian site.

That is something that Stina can agree with.
– Did he say that? It was surprising. Yes, but it could be. It’s very good, because both know what it’s like. Except when we go to a competition on the same day, because both are a little nervous, but we support each other through thick and thin, she says of the relationship.
