But alongside the new success, Malungsdotter suffered an embarrassing mistake during one of the races.
– One thing I am dissatisfied with is that my hose froze. So I couldn’t drink anything and had to fight the cramp. So it’s… There’s so much you have to learn with long-distance running. It’s the kind of rookie mistake that shouldn’t happen at all. But I have to take that with me!, she tells SVT about her mistake.
During Saturday’s 60-kilometer race, she instead had to bite without water and finished in fourth place. Despite the fact that it was 13-15 degrees below zero and that she had just returned from an illness.
– I almost didn’t believe in getting to the start a week ago. It is easy to say that you should have gone out a little harder, but then it might have tipped over, she admits to the TV channel.
