As of Sunday morning, the Swedish Foreign Ministry has no new information on whether any Swedes are about to be able to leave the war-torn Gaza Strip. At the same time, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen is in the Middle East to discuss the ongoing conflict.

Earlier there were reports that a number of Swedes would have received permission to cross the Rafah border crossing to get to Egypt.

But on Sunday morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was unable to inform that there were any Swedes about to cross the border.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen is in the Middle East on Sunday to meet his Israeli colleague Eli Cohen, according to a press release from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Løkke Rasmussen will also visit the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank to meet Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and the UN’s special envoy for the Middle East, the Norwegian Tor Wennesland.
