No suspect has been arrested for Friday’s shooting in a residential area in Oxie in southeast Malmö. Four young people between the ages of 14 and 19 were injured.

The shooting happened just before 7pm on Friday. According to information to several media outlets, a masked person shot at a group of teenagers at a grocery store.

– It is not a picture I can confirm at the moment, says police spokesperson Filip Annas to TT on Saturday afternoon.

He states that no suspect has yet been arrested.

The injured are known to the police from before, but not for serious crime. According to the police, this type of crime does not usually happen randomly.

– In general, that is the case, but we have an unclear motive picture at the moment. The investigation continues on a broad front with questioning, information gathering and technical analysis, says Annas.

During Saturday, the police and the municipality are working with safety-creating measures in the residential area.

– We have a good resource there during the day, says Filip Annas.

Residents in Oxie heard a number of loud bangs in connection with the incident.

– Then blue lights appeared everywhere. I have never felt unsafe here before, this is the first time something has happened, said a resident to TT shortly after the shooting.
