Utrecht – The academic hospitals, including UMC Utrecht, cannot agree on a joint recommendation on the concentration of pediatric heart surgery. Minister Ernst Kuipers (Public Health) had asked them for advice, but the hospitals say that they do not have a good idea “of the actual effects on other care”. That is why, according to them, it is now the minister’s turn, according to the Dutch Federation of University Medical Centers (NFU).
Still no decision centers for pediatric heart surgery, patient associations want clarity
