Many people get help from the authorities to stay in hotels, says TV4 Nyhetern’s foreign correspondent Tomas Kvarnkullen, who is on the ground in Vernon in the hard-hit province of British Columbia.
– It is like a white fog over this city where I am now. It smells very strongly of fire smoke and you get a little irritated in your throat when you stand out here.
