The largest party in the recent elections, Water Natural, speaks of a “unique coalition”, mainly because of the differences between the parties. For example, with the BBB and the PvdD, there are two parties that think very differently about themes such as nature and agriculture. “There were sometimes tough discussions, but always about content,” says Maarten Verkerk of Water Naturally about the formation process. “That helped to become the only council in the Netherlands in which BBB and PvdD work together. This coalition really does justice to the election results.”
