Master of the Air

At the center of Masters of the Air is a young Air Force bombardment group whose crew around Major Gale “Buck” Cleven (Austin Butler), Major John “Bucky” Egan (Callum Turner) and Lieutenant Curtis Biddick (Barry Keoghan) are dying brought from the air into enemy territory. However, they not only have to contend with German planes, but also with the weather and must also face the psychological challenges that their deadly task entails.

Cary Joji Fukunaga (James Bond 007 – No Time to Die) directed four episodes of the war series. This time too, it was important to the series team around Steven Spielberg to portray the war in Masters of the Air as authentically as possible. That’s why special army barracks were recreated in great detail and new technologies were developed to display the air battles from the aircraft cockpit.
