Steven Spielberg reveals which of his own films he still

Which is Steven Spielberg’s best film? This question is not easy to answer, because the director’s filmography contains several masterpieces from the dinosaur epic Jurassic Park, to the adventure classic Raiders of the Lost Ark, to the nerve-wracking animal horror in Jaws.

It is all the more surprising that Spielberg rarely returns to his own films. In fact, he stands by his work extremely critical as he revealed to Stephen Colbert in an interview for The Late Show a year ago. In fact, there is only “five to six” Films that Spielberg regularly returns to.

ET is one of the few films that Steven Spielberg can watch over and over again

Unfortunately, Spielberg did not reveal all of the films on this list. However, he highlighted one in particular in his conversation with Colbert: ET – The Extra-Terrestrial. The science fiction film tells the story of a small alien who is accidentally separated from his species. is forgotten on earth and then befriends the equally lonely boy Elliot.

Since 1982, the touching mixture of science fiction and coming-of-age story, embedded in an American suburban idyll, has thrilled audiences. “It is one of the few films I can return to and I can look at it again. For the most part, ET is a pretty perfect movie”said Spielberg.

However, the director did change one thing for the film’s 20th anniversary. Spielberg replaced the weapons in ET with fun devices. he regrets this decision however, as he explained to the Times in 2023.

That was a mistake. I should never have done that. ET is a product of its time. No film should be revised based on our current perspectives, either willingly or by force.
