Stéphane Séjourné: Large lead in the first round for the minister, the results in detail

Stephane Sejourne Large lead in the first round for the

Stéphane Séjourné was largely placed in the lead in the first round of the legislative elections in the 9th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine.

A successful first. Stéphane Séjourné, whose first candidacy for an election was this, was largely placed in the lead in the first round of the legislative elections by the inhabitants of the 9th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine. This administrative division only includes the city of Boulogne-Billancourt and had been the subject, like the entire department, of an alliance between LR and the presidential party Renaissance. The Minister of Foreign Affairs was credited with 46.07% of the votes, according to the final results, and is moving on to the second round where he will challenge Pauline Rapilly-Ferniot, candidate of the New Popular Front, who obtained 21.39% of the votes.

There will therefore be no three-way race in the 9th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine this Sunday, July 7, since only these two candidates ultimately qualified for the second round. A dissident candidate from the Republicans had nevertheless presented herself – Virginie Mathot – and she won 15.17% of the votes. The RN, represented by Julia Carrasco, won 13.93% of the votes.

Does Stéphane Séjourné have any chance of being elected in the 2024 legislative elections?

Given the electorate of Boulogne-Billancourt, Stéphane Séjourné has a good chance of confirming Sunday, July 7 and being elected as a deputy. Because if it is his first election, it is however not the first time that a candidate of the presidential majority is running for a mandate as a deputy in the 9th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine. It is even a conquered territory, which had already been won by the Renaissance party for the legislative elections of 2022, by the deputy Emmanuel Pellerin.

Furthermore, Stéphane Séjourné is running with the support of the LR mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt, Pierre-Christophe Baguet. In the profession of faith, the two parties announced that they were joining forces “in the face of the extremes who are colluding to take power”. Citing the intensification of “economic competition” and “the war back on our continent”, “our country will not be able to face these upheavals without political action resolutely focused on tomorrow”.
