A 35-year-old man in Gothenburg hung his two-year-old stepson in a noose around his neck until he lost consciousness.
The stepfather also forced the boy to eat his own feces.
Now the man is sentenced to six years in prison.
It was in February this year that the 35-year-old man’s partner found footage of abuse in the man’s computer by chance, which Gothenburg Post was the first to report on.
The woman, the two-year-old’s mother, tells how she saw film clips of her partner tying a noose from a towel and then pulling it around the two-year-old’s neck.
He then let the boy hang freely in the air until he was unconscious. The violence is described as life-threatening.
The woman reported the man to the police after she saw the video clips.
“The plaintiff is completely dishonest when NN then lays him down on the floor and his body looks like a small, lifeless rag doll,” the judgment says.
In another film, the man is seen pushing the boy’s own excrement into his mouth.
In connection with that, the man called the stepson a “pig” and a “disgusting bastard”, according to the documents.
Didn’t want stepdad to change diapers
It is not established exactly what time the abuse took place. But the woman and the man had lived together since 2021 and the boy is estimated to have been just over two years old.
At the time when the woman made her police report, the man had already managed to delete a number of files, it appears in the judgment.
The woman tells in questioning how the two-year-old has had to be medicated because he kept until he became constipated during the time they lived together.
The boy also did not want the man to change his diapers.
The defense: Suffered from panic disorder
The 35-year-old says in questioning that he has suffered from panic attacks and cites that as a reason for his actions.
He is now sentenced to six years in prison for extremely serious assault, molestation, offensive photography and child pornography. He must also pay damages of approximately SEK 270,000 to the son.
– I had indeed asked for a slightly longer sentence, but I am still quite satisfied considering that the man is convicted on all counts, says prosecutor Kajsa Johansson to GP.
