Stefan Schwarz’s clever answer to the question of whether he would face Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a fight: “If it happened…”

Hard, harder, Schwarz.
That’s how it always sounded when Stefan Schwarz played football.
But could he have beaten Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a fight?

He was called “God” and was harder than pure granite. We are of course talking about the Swedish national team icon and WC 94 hero Stephen Schwarz.

Icon Schwarz

The midfield legend had an absolutely brilliant football career in several big European clubs and will forever be remembered for his self-sacrificing style of play. Schwarz never backed down and always took the fight even against the toughest rawhides.

One of his most memorable moments was when he continued to play a game with a broken leg. But when Schwarz was a guest on the TV3 program “Patrik meets” with the high jump icon Patrik Sjoberg he revealed that a similar thing happened when he was a child playing at home on the clay court.
– I broke my arm then but continued to play. You were small and wanted to be one of the gang. There were no problems, it was just a matter of going to the hospital and then plastering, Schwarz admits in the TV program from 2012.

Argument with Zlatan

The national team icon also gets to answer what actually happened when he was reported to the police during his time as a player in England. After getting into a publicized snowball fight with a local youth gang.
– The young people threw snowballs and there was a confrontation, but everything was put down. It was an area where older people felt harassed, which happens when young people have no activities, says Schwarz.

Patrik Sjöberg then comes up with the most unexpected question about a fight between Stefan Schwarz and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had been considerably harsher than the classic quarrel between Fredrik Ljungberg and Olof Mellberg in the WC 2002.
– Zlatan has practiced taekwondo and so have I, so if that were to happen, yes…

Then Sjöberg interrupts and asks the most common question: “Who would sink who?”. Then Schwarz answers quickly:
– I always believe in myself.
