Recently, one Stefan Raab show format after the other has been making a comeback. In addition to TV total, new editions of the Wok World Cup and Schlag denBesten returned to television screens. As usual, the entertainer is because of his TV pension still not in front of the camerabut only involved behind the scenes as a producer.
But here, too, Raab is still observing very closely how his most successful formats are handled. A new edition of the ice football cup planned for the end of the year he now personally threw a spanner in the works. It’s also a strong indication that the show is set to return in its original format as well.
Stefan Raab prevents new edition of ice football with imminent legal dispute
According to DWDL, Joyn planned a variation of the Raab event, which involves playing football in bowling shoes on an ice hockey rink. On December 29, the show was scheduled to take place under the new name Kick on hold with successful streaming names like Trymacs, MontanaBlack, Fritz Meinecke and eliasn97 live from the Lanxess Arena in Cologne.
Now DWDL has reported that Kick is on hold in this form itself. Joyn published the following on this statements:
The live event announced for December 29, 2022 as ‘Kick auf Eis’ will not be held in this form by MediaTotal for licensing reasons. Joyn respects the IP of the Raab TV format ‘Deutscher Eisfussball Pokal’.
Licensing reasons apparently mean that Joyn received a warning from Raab because whose ice football brand continued without his involvement should be. The streaming provider probably does not want to risk a legal dispute. But it is also a clear indication that Raab wants to bring his iconic format back sooner or later.
In any case, Joyn announced that the originally planned event would also take place new game principle and different title to adjust. Further details have not yet been announced.
