There are few who can measure up Ingemar Stenmarks unparalleled sporting achievements. He is one of Sweden’s absolute best athletes of all time and was completely dominant during his active career many years ago.
Stenmark’s greatness
Our country stood still when “Stenis” went down the hill and saved victories on a conveyor belt for several decades. There were as many as 86 World Cup victories, as well as two Olympic golds and five World Cup golds during the fantastic career.

But at 67 years old, he continues to impress all Swedes and amaze us with his incredible physique. Stenmark has acquired his very own Instagram account in his older days and shows there his everyday life as a pensioner and surprises from time to time with training clips.
Holm is stunned
The skiing icon has started to practice pole vaulting and aims to compete in the veteran WC. That’s why Ingemar hones his physics every day and recently he published a clip of him jumping level footed onto a plinth as simply and elegantly as possible, see the video below.

– Yes, I have seen it. Uh, there are no words. He is unique on so many levels and this is… (silence). It’s absolutely insane!, says the former track and field athlete in a television interview with Expressen and admits that he had had a hard time matching that.
– I don’t jump very high (equal foot). I’ve never been very good at it so it’s hard to compare. But I would never have been able to do that today – and he is still 20 years older than me.
