Steam Next Fest promises dozens of great demos, but perhaps the best one is already here

Next week, Next Fest starts on Steam with lots of interesting demos, but one game already promises to outshine all the others.

What game is it? Tiny Glade is the first game from indie developer Pounce Light and is scheduled to be released on Steam in the third quarter of 2024. However, you can already play a free demo on the platform.

The principle of Tiny Glade is basically easy to explain: you build a small castle landscape in a relaxed manner and without any instructions. There are no management challenges, no fights and no time pressure. The focus here is on free building and enjoying what you create.

Why is it already the best demo? The Steam Next Fest doesn’t start until next week, on June 10, 2024. You’ll have the chance to discover lots of new games and try out some demos. But Tiny Glade could already be the game that outshines all other participating games, at least that’s what Tom Francis, the creator of Gunpoint, Heat Signature and Tactical Breach Wizard, says on X.com.

In response, David Ortiz, COO of ICO Partners, commented: “Over 800,000 wishlists, no big deal.” In fact, such big numbers for a small indie game would be quite a big deal and definitely noteworthy.

Where exactly Ortiz got the numbers from is not known, but since Tiny Glade is currently ranked 17th among the most requested games on Steam, the numbers could be very realistic.

What else is there at Next Fest? As mentioned, you can already play a demo of Tiny Glade. For the Next Fest, the developers have planned a livestream on Steam on June 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. They will show you a bit of gameplay there. You will also have the chance to ask the developers questions directly. Recently, another game on Steam was able to celebrate high numbers: German developers celebrated 500,000 wishlists on Steam after a Twitch streamer showed their game on his show
