Freshly landed on Steam, Endlight is one of the most chaotic games we’ve seen. The title can only be played once a year – if you’re unlucky, you can never play it again. MeinMMO tells you what’s behind this crazy title.
What is Endlight about? In Endlight we whiz as an undefined object through a crazy world that looks like an abstract art painting. The bizarre 3D landscapes are constantly changing and we can destroy them by flying against them.
The game offers 100 levels. In each level, the goal is to collect the ten golden hoops by flying through them. There will be 25 more free levels every month until the game has a total of 500 levels.

Why can it only be played once a year? Each level can only be played once. Once you have completed it, there is no way to reactivate the levels.
But once a year there is the chance to reactivate the level for another run. On December 9th, 2023 there is a special challenge that players can – you guessed it – only play once.
If they succeed in the challenge, they will receive a coupon with which they can play each of the 100+ levels again. The voucher is valid for one year. But if the challenge fails, the opportunity is wasted and players have to wait another year for the challenge.
By the way: There are currently several games on Steam, as the GameStar colleagues report in an article. You can then play this more than once.
Developer Jim McGinley thinks that’s why many players will hate him. But he hopes there are some who share his sense of humor and see the coupon as a special reward that no other game has (via pcgamer.com).
McGinley has made sure that you can’t cheat: changing your clock on the PC or otherwise manipulating data will not help you to regain access to the levels.
So Endlight might not be for all of you as it requires a very twisted sense of humor.
