Stay seated at the end of Shazam 2! The end credits scenes bring back 2 DC favorites and a forgotten villain

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Before the DC Universe reboots with superhero blockbuster The Flash this summer, Zachary Levi’s DC hero joins his Shazamily in a new big-screen adventure in Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods. In it, the daughters of Atlas become a great danger for the young heroes from Philadelphia.

You should know before you go to the cinema: Shazam 2 continues the DC tradition of post-credit scenes. You shouldn’t fall straight out of the cinema at the end of the film. For those who are curious and those who may have missed the end credits scenes, you will find below an explanation of what happens in them.

How many post-credit scenes does Shazam 2 have?

Total there two end credits scenes in Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods. However, anyone who hopes that they might present the next Superman or give an indication of the reorganization of the DC Universe will be disappointed.

Warning, there will be spoilers for Shazam 2. If you don’t want to spoil the surprises, read no further.

While the opening credits scene brings back two familiar DC faces and sets up an exciting new direction for Shazam’s character, the post-credits scene serves more as a gag poking fun at an ignored villain.

The first end credits scene brings back two Peacemaker stars

The so-called mid-credit scene of Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods starts off with a surprise. There is a reunion with the two ARGUS members Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and John Economos (Steve Agee), who have previously appeared on The Suicide Squad and the DC series Peacemaker. Harcourt also had an appearance in Black Adam, which becomes important in the following scene.

The duo roams a forest road to recruit a superhero on behalf of Amanda Waller. Of course it’s Shazam, who immediately agrees when he hears the word “Justice”. Unfortunately, instead of being invited to the Justice League team – which includes his crush Wonder Woman – he’s invited to the Justice Society.

The Justice Soicety is a team of superheroes last introduced in Black Adam. Members include Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell).

Shazam ends up getting frustrated that the Justice Society and Justice League sound way too similar. His alternative name change suggestions would be: Authority Society, Code Society and Avengers Society.

Shazam 2’s post-credits scene brings Mister Mind back (again).

There’s another bonus scene at the end of the credits that should be all too familiar to fans of the first Shazam film. As in the end credits scene of the previous film, it goes into the prison cell of villain Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong), who once again meets the wormy super villain Mister Mind.

Mister Mind

As a reference to the fact that this tease is from Shazam! played no role at all in the sequel, Sivana is upset that Mister Mind still hasn’t let him in on his sinister plans has. It has been more than 2 years since his last visit. The tiny villain replies that he is a worm and therefore needs longer for everything.

But this time Sivana does not receive any concrete instructions as to what the plan is. Because Mister Mind says goodbye again. He still has something to do “briefly”.

It is questionable whether the two end credits scenes will be picked up again in the future of the DC Universe. Fortunately, a return of Shazam in the new DC film universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran has not yet been ruled out.
