Amsterdam is tired of nuisance tourists and especially badly behaved British men. Journalist Sara Salmi shows what kind of video campaign is used to tackle tourists’ loitering.

In the Netherlands, the city of Amsterdam launched an advertising campaign with a succinct message: stay away.

The order is aimed at ill-behaved tourists who come to the city to use too much alcohol and drugs. The main target group of the campaign is British men aged 18–35, The city of Amsterdam tells (you will switch to another service).

This was not the first time that Amsterdam has sought to address bad tourist behavior in the city. BBC (switch to another service) reported in February that Amsterdam will ban the sale of cannabis in the famous red light district from mid-May. There will also be new restrictions on the opening hours of bars, restaurants and sex workers’ workplaces.
