Fewer drunk driving offenses in 2024
Of the screening samples performed in 2024, 9 005, or around 0.7 percent, were positive.
This is a decrease compared to 2023, when just over 11,220 of 1,263,312 screening samples, corresponding to 0.9 percent, were positive.
However, the statistics are dragging, and the figure for 2024 may therefore be adjusted upwards in the future.
Then drivers are stuck for steering wheel
A positive result in a screening test means that the driver is above the limit for drunk driving, and thus leads to the notification of crime.
The statistics reveal that most drivers get stuck for drunk driving during the period between 10:00 and 10:59 in the morning.
– The statistics are black on white that this is most common between 10am and 10.59, which may be due to unintentional steering wheel if you have sufficiently supersed the night before, says Hunter AbbottAlcohol expert at the Alcosense Laboratories.

The statistics also indicate that more people are blowing positively in the alcare meter in areas with higher population density.
Most drunk driving offenses in 2024 were reported in the police region south, followed by the police regions West and Stockholm.
