Stating that they discussed the issue of creating safe zones in Gaza, Sisi said, “We are talking about creating safe zones where homeless people can live, not only in the south of the Gaza Strip, but also in the north and central part.” he said.
Emphasizing that the deportation of Palestinians from Gaza did not remain in words but was actually carried out by making people unable to live in their current places, Sisi said, “As Egypt, we will not allow this (deportation). We have welcomed 9 million immigrants into the country. These people come from countries such as Syria, Libya, Yemen, Iraq and Sudan.” “There were security problems. Sisi noted that the process of peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians has been interrupted for 30 years and that it is necessary to act in a different way instead of restarting this process after what happened, and said, “Now, the Palestinian state must be recognized by the international community and included in the UN.” he said.
SPAIN IS DETERMINED TO RECOGNIZE PALESTINE
Making a statement to the press in Egypt, Sanchez signaled that Spain would recognize the Palestinian state in a short time.
Sanchez said, “It is time for the international community and the European Union to recognize the Palestinian state. It is something worth and important. We must do this together with the EU, but if the EU does not recognize the Palestinian state, Spain will make its own decision.” he said.
In his speech at the confidence vote session of his government in the Spanish Parliament last week, Sanchez said that one of the priorities of the newly established government would be the recognition of the Palestinian state.
Sanchez, who conveyed this opinion to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his meeting yesterday, also emphasized that “Israel has the right to defend itself, but the humanitarian disaster in Gaza must be stopped urgently.”
“The terrible suffering of hundreds of thousands of people in Palestine is appalling.” Using the statement, Sanchez is conducting diplomacy to organize an international peace conference based on a two-state solution in case of a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Palestine.
