The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement regarding the US lifting some of its sanctions against Venezuela.

In the written statement made by the Ministry, “We congratulate the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Venezuelan opposition, represented by the Unity Platform, for the agreements signed in Barbados on October 17 on the support of political rights and guarantees of the right to vote and be elected for all, as well as the protection of national interests. We see the US announcement regarding the lifting of sanctions against Venezuela as a step in the right direction. Our country is ready to provide the necessary support to the Venezuelan authorities, if needed, to ensure that the elections to be held in Venezuela in 2024 are held in a transparent and fair manner, in accordance with democratic principles. “The Republic of Turkey maintains its principled stance against unilateral sanctions and stands by our friend Venezuela today as it did in the past.”
