State of Play 2024 Everything you need to remember from

A small event but big resources! The State of Play kept its promises and when the announcements arrived they were able to attract attention.

For fans of video games and more particularly those of the PlayStation franchise, we had to wait until late in the evening of this Wednesday, May 30, 2024. At exactly midnight, the “State of Play” event launched on the internet and the PlayStation YouTube account. Sony had warned that the coming months following its call for investment would be calm.

Despite everything, no less than fourteen new games were unveiled by Sony in 35 minutes. No Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank or even Spider-Man before March 2025, however we were treated to some interesting surprises. If you missed the State of Play event, here’s a recap of the main announcements.

Concord

The opening ball of the State of Play began with a brand new game developed by the English studio Firesprite. Concord, that’s what it’s called, is a third-person shooter. Players embark on a science fiction level and several game modes are offered based on PvP (player versus player). The gameplay is very simple since teams of five compete against each other. Each player can choose from a roster of numerous characters based on powers each of them possess. The release of Concord is scheduled for August 23, 2024 on PS5 and PC.

God of War Ragnarok

As expected, the game straight from Santa Monica Studio is making its comeback with a partnership with Jetpack Interactive. This laptop-only version will take you on an epic and emotional journey in which you can follow the fate of Kratos and Atreus as they face threats to fight against the past. The game will benefit from much more advanced specifications for the most efficient devices as well as new unlocked options. We will still have to wait until the end of 2024 since God of War Ragnarok will only be released on PC from September 19.

Astrobot

He’s making his comeback! Astrobot, the famous game developed by the Japanese studio Team Asoni, takes users in search of the crew of the little robot Astro across 6 galaxies for no less than 80 levels. Brand new levels and features for this 3D game which will delight fans of adventure games. Astro Bot is expected on September 6, 2024 on your PS5 console while pre-orders will open on June 7.

Monster Hunter Wilds

A new trailer that kept its promises until the end. The new game from the Capcom license reveals rich gameplay with numerous cutscenes. The many details reveal the monsters that the protagonist will have to face during his exploration. He will be able to count on new mounts to complete his quests. Unlike other games, Monster Hunter Wilds does not have a release day but it is still planned for 2025 on PS5.

Until Dawn

For fans of PSVR2, the virtual reality headset developed by Sony exclusively for its PS5, several titles will soon be compatible. Among them, this great classic released on PS4 which will immerse you directly in the atmosphere of horror. You will have understood, it is of course a matter of Until Dawn which has been improved and redesigned for PC and PS5. The trailer plunges the viewer directly into the heart of the matter when a group of eight people find themselves in the mountains on an excursion that will turn into a nightmare. We won’t tell you more about the details but know that the game is announced for the end of 2024.
