BOGOTA (AA) – In the South American country Peru, it was reported that the state of emergency (OHAL), declared about 2 years ago, was lifted within the scope of Kovid-19 applications.
In the statement made after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was emphasized that the cases in the country had decreased significantly recently, and it was stated that the State of Emergency, which has been in effect since March 2020, has been lifted.
In addition to the decrease in daily cases, the success of the national vaccination campaign was mentioned in the statement, and it was stated that all restrictions within the country were officially lifted.
According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, 4 million 153 thousand 605 people have been infected with Kovid-19 in Peru so far, while 216 thousand 884 people have died due to the virus.
The country’s 90-day state of emergency, declared in March 2020 after the first cases were detected, was subsequently gradually extended.
