Start-up problems with student transport not yet resolved: ‘Things are getting better every day’

Start up problems with student transport not yet resolved Things are

Early June, panic broke out among parents of more than 600 children who use student transport in five Utrecht municipalities. These are the municipalities of Bunnik, De Bilt, Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Wijk bij Duurstede and Zeist. Due to a shortage of staff and problems with the tender, it was not possible to enter into a contract with a new carrier in time.

As a result, there was no transport for the children in (special) education. The search for an alternative solution was started, and two months later a solution was found. The municipalities jointly announced that transport was guaranteed. Parents drive themselves and taxi buses and coaches are also used.
