Warning, spoilers: The zombie series The Walking Dead ended last November, but the franchise will be continued with new spin-offs. One of them is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which takes Norman Reedus’ character to France after the end of the main series and provides exciting ideas for anticipation.
Melissa McBrides Carol was originally supposed to fight French super zombies under the Eiffel Tower alongside Daryl, but she dropped out at short notice. The project received a creative reorientation and fans worried we’ll never see Carol again. Those fears seem unfounded as fans have now spotted McBride on the set of the Daryl series.
Carol’s secret The Walking Dead return: fans caught her in France
Rumors have been circulating on Twitter and in fan groups for weeks that Melissa McBride currently in France in front of the camera for the Daryl series stands. Unfortunately, The Walking Dead veteran turned out to be extremely camera shy. Filming is taking place in strict secrecy, which is why there have been no set photos confirming Carol’s return.
Now, however, a French fan seems to have managed to get Melissa McBride in front of his lens and confirmed her presence on the Daryl set. Probably the biggest surprise since The Walking Dead finale is no longer a secret:

Carol’s return is an absolute relief for The Walking Dead fans. In April 2022, it was announced that Melissa McBride needed a break after strenuously producing 11 seasons of The Walking Dead and had to cancel her spin-off gig. After a year break she now seems ready to return and take a trip to France.
There is no official confirmation of Melissa McBride’s return as Carol, although Norman Reedus has hinted. All the chaos surrounding the making of the Daryl spin-off will fizzle out when Carol personally heads to France to search for her missing best friend.
When does the Daryl series start and when does Carol return?
However, fans shouldn’t get excited too soon. The first season of the Daryl series has been filmed since March 2023. The currently ongoing filming indicates that season 2 is already being produced, although it has not yet been officially announced. So we should assume that it is only in season 2 a reunion with Carol gives.
The first season of the new The Walking Dead series will consist of six episodes and is expected to premiere in Fall 2023 at AMC celebrate. The second season with Carol could appear a year later, in 2024.
