Years before his final breakthrough as Finn in the new Star Wars sequels, John Boyega starred in the little sci-fi gem Attack the Block. The movie about a Alien invasion of a London council building should also get a sequel, which was officially announced in 2021.
Since then, Attack the Block 2 has been pretty quiet. Now Boyega has one himself optimistic update submitted on the status of the sci-fi sequel.

The start of shooting of Attack the Block 2 shouldn’t be too long in coming
In an interview with Collider, Boyega talks about the script for the sequel probably only the final touch is missing and filming is scheduled to start in the near future:
We’re very close. We are on. Obviously we don’t want to give anyone a date because we want to take care of the creative process. We have the framework of the story, but we’re still in the lab just making sure the story is right. history is everything.
But it won’t be long now. I drummed to speed up the process. Hopefully we’ll have an announcement soonwhen we’re going to be in London messing things up.
With a worldwide box office of around 6 million dollars on a budget of 13 million dollars, Attack the Block was able to not convincing at the box office. Nevertheless, a small cult fan community formed around the entertaining sci-fi film and they can’t wait for part 2. Attack the Block fans won’t have to wait too long for good news.
