Star Wars star Daisy Ridley applied for Netflixs largest fantasy

As a Rey Skywalker in Star Wars 7 to 9, Daisy Ridley has already gained experience with large fanchises and is currently waiting for the starting signal for a new Rey film. In the meantime, the actress apparently has an eye on another large project that comes from Netflix and is located instead of sci-fi in the fantasy area: the planned new edition of the chronicles of Narnia series. The reason is with the creative head behind the film – in which Ridley is according to his own statement “Shameless” applied to a role.

For Netflix-Fantasy: Daisy Ridley absolutely wants to work with Narnia maker Greta Gerwig

In a Q&A for her new film Cleaner, Daisy Ridley was asked about the filmmakers: inside, with whom she would like to work. According to Collider, she also called Narnia director Greta Gerwig. Ridley explained that the question of whether she had already spoken to Gerwig about a role in the upcoming fantasy edition:

Yes, but I thought, ‘Ugh, it will be Saoirse Ronan.’ And you know what, I’m such a big fan and of course it will be absolutely great – and maybe it won’t work! But yes, I asked [lacht]. I have no shame! I just had the feeling [Greta Gerwig] Can work so well with acting and the fact that the actors work with her over and over again is a testimony for her. I love their films.

Even if Daisy Ridley does not reveal what role it has applied exactly in the remake of the popular novels of CS Lewis, due to Ridley’s age, only a few are eligible: The white witch Jadisthat was embodied in the Disney films of Tilda Swinton’s 2000s. Recently, rumors were loud that Saoirse Ronan was under discussion for the villain role. In October 2024, however, Ronan explained live at Jimmy Kimmel that she had not yet been asked in this regard. Of course, that has changed in the past few months.
