Finding Cal in Koboh after this encounter, Cal, Greez and Bode decide to search for Tanalorr and make it their new home together. Searching for any available information on Tanalorr, the group decides to go to Jedha, where Cal’s mentor, Cere Junda, works with Jedi Master Edo Cordova to rebuild the Jedi Archives and support the Secret Path that protects power-sensitive people from the Empire.

A sandstorm forces them to descend far from the base, and Cal reunites with Merrin, a Nightsister Cal has feelings for, who leaves the Mantis team to explore the galaxy on his own terms. Cal reunites with Cere and Edo after surviving a storm in a cave. Although they don’t know much about Tanalorr, Edo sends them back to Koboh and its Shattered Moon in search of devices that could take them to Tanalorr.

Cal finds a damaged device on the planet and its Shattered Moon and learns that Dagan betrayed the Jedi Order after he decided not to settle on Tanalorr. Cal brings them back to Jedha, but is distracted to help Merrin save a Hidden Path safe house that has been attacked by the Empire.

Then he begs for an honorable death, so Cal kills Rayvis. After that, Bode and Cal attack this observatory where the Empire and Bedlam Raiders are in a big fight with each other. Eventually, they fight their way to Dagan, who reveals his true purpose in rebuilding a new Jedi Order in his image on Tanalorr before taking over the galaxy with him.

After a fierce fight, Cal and Bode defeat and kill the fallen Jedi. All seems well as the crew returns to Jeddah with the final compass. However, Bode seems increasingly restless since he learns that Cal wants to make Tanalorr a haven for the Hidden Path, not just a haven for himself, Merrin, Greez, Bode and Kata. Edo Cordova repairs the final compass and the crew celebrates that night, and Cal confesses his feelings to Merrin, who reciprocates.

The next day, they are interrupted by an Imperial attack on the Jedha base and are further shocked by Bode, who betrayed the group. Edo tries to reason with Bode, but Bode kills him and flees. This kicks off the final phase of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s plot. Bode is the real villain of this game.

Bode had been a mole for the Empire the entire time, and when Cal announced that he would use Tanalorr for the Secret Path, he eventually reaffirmed his allegiance to them.

In Nova Garon, Cal manages to get to Bode’s living quarters, where he meets Kata in person. While they are friendly towards each other, Bode returns and escapes with Kata, planning for Cal to destroy the base in anger. Cal begins to succumb to the Dark Side while chasing Bode, but Merrin prevents him from returning completely. Bode escapes, but the Mantis Team learns they can also align the strings on Koboh to open a path to Tanalorr.

With Zee’s help, they create an opening in the Abyss, and Greez flies away without destroying the Mantis. They land on Tanalorr, ready to face Bode. On their way to this fight though, Merrin and Cal agree to experiment and reason with Bode as they don’t want Kata to lose their family completely as they both have. They find Kata, who brings them to Bode. While trying to reason with Bode, it’s clear he’s gone too far and he starts fighting Cal.

It seems that Cal comes to the top after a fight and begs Bode to surrender, but Bode uses this opportunity to counterattack, damaging Kata, Merrin, and BD-1 in the process. Left with no other choice, Cal temporarily embraces the Dark Side to gain the upper hand against Bode and kills him with an explosive that Bode gave him on their earlier adventures together. Realizing they’ve passed their trauma to Kata and now have to deal with it, Cal and Merrin return to Mantis with Kata in reserve.
